| Edgefield Baptist Church Celebrating 145 years of ministry in 2012 Welcome to the website of historic Edgefield Baptist Church! We hope as you visit this site that it will give you a small taste of what our church family and community is all about. You will find pages here that share about the different ministries and activities that are available for all ages, pages that introduce you to our pastor, as well as other ministry leaders and staff, a page that shares some of our church's rich history, and a page that will help introduce you to our Savior, Redeemer, and Friend...Jesus Christ. Please spend time exploring these and other pages on our site. If you have questions or comments about anything you run across, we would love to hear from you. In addition to visiting our website, we invite you to come experience our church family and community first hand. We gather for Worship each Sunday morning at 10 am. A complete weekly schedule can be found here. We are located in the Historic Edgefield neighborhood of East Nashville, on the corner of South Seventh and Russell Streets, near Downtown, LP Field, Five Points, and Shelby Park. We are three blocks north of Shelby Avenue, and just one block south of Woodland Street, across from Warner Elementary and East Park. Click here for a Google map. Road Construction Reminder...We want to remind everyone that the interstate, nearest to the church, is now closed on the weekend for bridge repairs. Repairs will be ongoing throughout the summer months. Those of you that travel to church, via interstate, should plan to take an alternate route. We hope to see you soon! Come & join us!
Saturday May 19th from 10-2 @ Edgefield 700 Russell Street - Nashville, TN 37206 The event @ edgefield will feature a car show, fish fry and kids zone. And it is all free of charge!
Edgefield celebrated it's 145th Anniversary
with a Homecoming Celebration on Sunday, April 22nd. We were joined by
former pastors James Powers, Thomas Dumser, and Alan Lowe, as well as
former interim pastor Gene Fant. The morning service included a special
time of recognition for our Edgefield members of fifty, or more, years
(see photo above). The afternoon service featured special tributes for two
longtime Edgefield staff members who are marking special anniversaries
this year...Letha Culver who marks twenty-five years as our church cook,
and Peggy Hawkins who marks thirty years as our church secretary.
We want to thank all those that played a role
in making this homecoming celebration a memorable one...The members of our
homecoming committee, those that helped with set-up and tear-down, those
that prepared food, worked in the kitchen, served as greeters and ushers,
and all those that served in many behind-the-scenes ways. Most
of all, we give thanks to the Lord for blessing this special church, in so
many ways, over these past 145 years and we look forward to what He has in
store for us over the course of the next 145 years. To God Be The Glory!
In case you missed it, you can see the Homecoming program here.
