A Taste of Edgefield Baptist Church...Our long anticipated cookbook is almost ready...just in time for the Christmas season! More than 200 great recipes have been compiled from the Edgefield church family and community. The cover price is $12.00 and orders are now being accepted. To download an order form, click here. If you are requesting mail delivery, an additional $3.00 per book is required for postage and handling. The proceeds from the sales of this cookbook will be directed to the church's Centennial Campaign...for the next 100 years. The purpose of this campaign is to raise funds for enhancements and improvements to our 100+ year old church building as we help prepare it for another 100 years of service to the church and community. Bring-A-Toy Month…November is the month to bring toys for the annual Nashville Baptist Association Toy Store. The Toy Store benefits needy families in our 37206 zip code. We will be collecting toys at EBC beginning Sunday, November 9th and running throughout the rest of the month. A list of suggested items is on the cover of this month’s Binder, and also is posted at church. We hope everyone will generously support this year’s effort in collecting toys and other needed items. The Toy Store will be December 11th-12th and 15th-16th at Shelby Avenue Baptist. Volunteers are needed, and if you can give a couple of hours, or a couple of days, please contact volunteer coordinator Gloria Price at 824-4200 or at gloriaprice@bellsouth.net. Poinsettias…to decorate the sanctuary for the Christmas season are now on sale. You may purchase a poinsettia(s) in memory of, or in honor of, family or friends. Poinsettia's are $6.00 each, and order forms are available at church. Orders can be turned in, with payment, to Sue Woodside or Mary Fox. Poinsettia’s can be taken home following Sunday worship on Sunday, December 21st. The Greening of the Church…Centuries old carols signal the beginning of the Christmas season. Traditional decorations – wreathes, holly, evergreens, poinsettias, candles – add to the festive mood in our homes and in our churches. They also tell a story. The Greening of the Church is a celebration – people singing, talking, worshipping, helping – telling “the” story of all stories that has endured for more that 2000 years. Join us for the traditional beginning of the Christmas season at EBC, The Greening of the Church, Sunday evening, November 30th at 6 pm. A reception will follow. Young Adult Winter Retreat at Fall Creek Falls is in the works for January 2nd-4th, 2009. For all those interested in going, a $20 deposit is due by Sunday, November 30th. See Daniel or Christy Davis for additional details. Week of Prayer for International Missions…is coming up beginning Sunday, November 30th, and that leads into our Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, which will be taken throughout the month of December. All gifts to Lottie Moon go to support the work of Southern Baptist missionaries all across the international community. Begin preparing now to support this special missions offering. To learn more about the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, click here. Pro:31 for Women 30-50...give or take, meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm. The next get-together will be Tuesday, December 9th.WAGOH….Women After God's Own Heart, for younger women, meets on Sunday evenings for a time of Bible study and fellowship. years
was launched in 2007 as the church celebrated the 100th anniversary of our
church building.
This campaign was designed to raise funds for upgrades and
enhancements to the church facility that will help to prepare it for the
next 100 years of ministry.
