Steve Saunders joined us as the twenty-fourth pastor of Edgefield Baptist Church on Easter
Sunday, March 23rd, 2008. Steve is 41 years of age, and a Nashville native. He is a graduate of Hillsboro High School, the University of
Tennessee in Knoxville, and Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY. He has
served as youth minister at two Nashville area churches and as a student
chaplain at a hospital in Louisville. He
has also worked as lay leadership in singles, youth, and children’s
ministry. In addition to his pastoral duties, he is also employed by
Belmont University in the Social Work Department as the training supervisor for
the Department of Children’s Services training project.
Steve and and his wife Brenda were married in 2003, and in 2006 God
blessed them with the birth of their son, Steve, Jr.
Daniel Davis
joined the EBC staff, as Youth & Student Minister for The Edge, in
November 2006. Daniel is a native of Mt. Juliet and is a graduate of Union University in
Jackson. He is also a graduate of
Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY. In addition to his duties at EBC, he
is employed with LifeWay Christian Resources in the Customer Service
Department. Daniel and his wife Christy have two children, Hannah and
Benjamin.
Misti Frazier has been at EBC since she was a toddler.
Misti today heads up our JAM Kids Ministry. She has a
heart and passion for children
to know God in a personal way and for them to have fun doing it. She spent 3
summers as a Crosspoint Christian Sports Camp staffer. Occasionally, as her
schedule allows, she enjoys sports ministry and going on sports mission trips.
She is a native of Nashville
and holds a B.S. Psychology degree from MTSU. Currently, she is pursuing a
Master's of Education degree at MTSU. In addition to leading the Kid's Ministry
at EBC, she is employed with LifeWay Christian Resources in the Marketing
Department. She enjoys reading, writing, spending meaningful times with friends
at coffee shops, road trips, and running.
Mary
Leigh Hogan Ochoa joined the EBC staff, as Accompanist, in August 2008. Mary
Leigh is a graduate of the University of Southern
Mississippi in Hattiesburg with a degree in Music Education. While in
Hattiesburg, she taught music in the public schools, taught private voice and
piano, and served in a local church as accompanist and children's music ministry
administrator. She began teaching in Nashville in the fall of 2000 and is
presently a Music Specialist with Metro Nashville Schools. She is married
to Rudy Ochoa, Jr. and has two sons, a grandson, and a granddaughter.
Johnathan
Woodside joined the EBC staff, as
Worship Leader, in July 2008.
Johnathan is a Nashville
native. Upon
graduating from East Literature Magnet High School he attended Tennessee State
University where he obtained a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. In addition
to his duties at EBC, Johnathan is employed full time at a local architectural
and engineering firm Gresham Smith and Partners. Johnathan also continues
to pursue a career in music with his band Alan's Folly.
